Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
BeatPhase ("we," "us," "our") is a digital beat marketplace operated by Ivan Rodriguez. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information about you when you use our website and services at beatphase.com (the "Platform"). 2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account registration: email address, display name, and password when you sign up.
- Producer profile: username, bio, and any profile image you choose to upload.
- Beat uploads: audio files, cover art, metadata (title, BPM, key, genre, tags), and pricing you set.
- Purchase information: name and email address provided at checkout. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe or PayPal — we never see or store your full card number.
- Communications: any messages you send us via email.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, beats previewed, search queries, and time spent on the Platform.
- Device & browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL.
- Cookies & session tokens: we use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
When you connect a payment account (Stripe or PayPal), those services may share limited account identifiers with us (such as a customer ID or account status) to facilitate payouts. We do not receive your full financial account details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to operate and improve the Platform. Specifically:
- To create and manage your account.
- To process beat purchases and deliver licensed files to buyers.
- To transfer sale proceeds to Producers via Stripe or PayPal.
- To send transactional emails — purchase confirmations, account credentials, and beat delivery notifications.
- To send Producer automation emails that you configure yourself through the Platform (e.g., post-purchase delivery emails to your buyers).
- To display your beats, profile, and catalog in the marketplace.
- To provide analytics to Producers about their beat performance (plays, favorites, sales).
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- To respond to your support requests and communications.
- To improve Platform features and user experience based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
We do not use your data for behavioral advertising, profiling for third-party marketing, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.
4. We Do Not Sell Your Information
BeatPhase does not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for their own commercial purposes. This applies to all users — Producers and Artists alike.
Your data is not a product. Our revenue comes from Producer subscriptions — not from monetizing user data or taking platform fees on sales. We have no financial incentive to share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any other commercial entities.
5. Information Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
5.1 With Payment Processors. We share your name, email, and order details with Stripe and/or PayPal to process transactions. These providers have their own privacy policies and are independently responsible for the data they collect.
5.2 Between Producers and Artists. When an Artist purchases a beat, the Producer receives the Artist's name and email address to fulfill the order (e.g., send the licensed file). This information is shared for fulfillment purposes only and Producers are prohibited from using it for unsolicited marketing.
5.3 Email Delivery. We use Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) and Resend to send transactional and automation emails. These services process email addresses and message content on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
5.4 Infrastructure Providers. Our Platform is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and Supabase. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by appropriate data protection agreements.
5.5 Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BeatPhase, our users, or the public.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your Producer subscription, your beats are removed from public discovery at the end of your billing period, and your account data is retained for 90 days before permanent deletion. Purchase records (order history, license records) are retained for a minimum of 7 years for legal and accounting compliance. You may request earlier deletion of non-essential data by contacting us.
7. Cookies
BeatPhase uses essential cookies only — specifically, session cookies required to keep you logged in and maintain your cart state. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracking technologies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from logging in or maintaining a cart.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed password storage, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to certain processing of your data.

10. Children's Privacy
BeatPhase is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
